FromageChaud's lab
Welcome — this site gathers my game prototypes, a devlog, and information about me and my goals. Please use RSS to stay informed about updates or new prototypes.
Prototypes
Keep in mind: each prototype aims to test my gameplay ideas:are they as fun as I imagined? They are missing tutorials, good UIs and graphics, etc... and it's ok (for now). Latest prototypes first:
-
Dungeon — Real-time asymmetric multiplayer dungeon crawler (1 architect vs. up to 3 heroes). I recommend trying 3-player games (2 heroes). I have had this idea since ~2021, inspired by Mad Trax, a coop asymetrical mini-game in Rayman 3. I coded a Minecraft plug-in (not published), with very similar gameplay but in 3D, which I dropped because it took me a lot of time.Playability: ★★☆Originality: ★★★
-
Powergrid — Management/simulation genre. Inspired from Mini-Motorways and the likes. Manage the topology (ie. the connections) of a growing powergrid. Simulated with realistic "load-flow" equations, which can hopefully enable some interesting emergent gameplay. Kudos to my other close friend. ~2024 we implemented a godot-based prototype (not published), more ugly and with less features, that nevertheless confirmed that the gameplay is definitely funny.Playability: ★☆☆Originality: ★★★
-
Incremental — Incremental/roguelike game. The code and gameplay are simple. Kudos to my close friend for coming up with the initial idea.Playability: ★★★Originality: ★☆☆
Any feedback on these prototypes could help me a lot: improving the gameplay, balancing the numbers, or giving me motivation to continue my work. Also, I'm looking for people (especially an artist) to help make one of these prototypes become real — feel free to reach out via the Contact page.
